Chris Quintana
freelance photojournalist

Chris Quintana is a Filipino freelance photographer who started his career in photography in 2004 shooting events and documenting festivals and the rural provinces during his travels. He would later be a senior staff photographer for the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and lead its photo and video unit until 2013.

Chris often shoots up close and very engaged trying to capture a more first-person perspective in his documentary images. As the images present itself, his background in painting and music manifests in his unique style of impressionistic, modernistic-art and sometimes surrealistic photographs.

A member of the Photojournalists’ Center of the Philippines (PCP), Chris contributes images to various online news organizations in the Philippines, prominently to the Philippine Daily Inquirer (Southern Luzon Bureau) and recently in Laguna Now.

He co-created The Alternative, an online magazine which features the local underground music and art scenes, subcultures, and counterculture.
